NEW HOPE — New Hope softball started the postseason with a bang Monday.
The Trojans dominated Vicksburg in Game 1 of their series against Vicksburg in the Class 5A MHSAA playoffs Monday by dominating 11-1. With the win, New Hope will go for the sweep in Game 2 Tuesday. If the Trojans fall, they will play a winner-take-all Game 3 shortly after the completion of Game 2.
Monday, Adi Dueitt dominated in the circle, tossing five innings of one-run ball while striking out three batters and limiting Vicksburg to five hits. New Hope strung together 11 hits as a team, and Emma Obryant led the team with three hits and three RBIs on the afternoon.

STARKVILLE — The Starkville High softball season came to an end Monday as Oxford eliminated the Jackets 15-2 in Game 2 of its three-game series.

NEW HOPE — The New Hope baseball team defeated Tupelo 9-7 in the regular season finale Monday. The Trojans will begin the playoffs on Thursday at home against Canton.
