Sarah Misiak of Columbus was honored by the Mississippi Senate on Wednesday as the 2020 State Games of Mississippi Female Athlete of the Year.
Misiak earned the honor for her performance at the state games Sept. 17, 2020, in Meridian.
The swimmer entered the National Senior Olympic Games twice, winning three gold medals in the 2017 Birmingham Games and two golds and a bronze in the 2019 Albuquerque Games.
She has competed in the State Games of Mississippi for six years.
