After a pair of 20-point performances, Mississippi State point guard was named the Southeastern Conference’s Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Molinar, a sophomore, scored 20 points in MSU’s win over No. 13 Missouri than contributed a career-high 24 points in the Bulldogs’ win against Vanderbilt.
It’s Molinar’s first career SEC Player of the Week honor.
On the year, Molinar is averaging 18.6 points and four rebound per game. He’s helped the Bulldogs to an 8-4 record and a 3-1 start in SEC play, the program’s best league start since the 2016-2017 season.
MSU is back in action at 8 p.m. Wednesday against Texas A&M at Humphrey Coliseum in what will be the first of a three-game homestand.
