STARKVILLE — The post-Vic Schaefer era attrition has begun.
Following Schaefer’s departure to Texas Sunday, Mississippi State forward Chloe Bibby announced that she has entered the transfer portal via her Twitter account Monday night.
“I want to say a massive thank you to the fans fore embracing me and making the past three years an incredible experience,” Bibby wrote. “I will forever cherish every photo, autograph, conversation and laugh I’ve had with all of you, and I truly feel blessed to have been a Bulldog. To my teammates I will be forever grateful to have played alongside you and call you my sisters. After long discussions with my family I have decided to enter into the transfer portal to explore all of my options moving forward. Lastly, please stay safe during this difficult time and treasure every moment with loved ones.”
After suffering a season-ending knee injury as a sophomore, Bibby averaged 7.5 points, 5.2 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game this season. She also shot 31.7 percent from behind the 3-point line, while her minutes dipped from 27.6 minutes per game to 23 minutes.
A native of Warracknabeal, Bibby was a fan favorite during her time in Starkville — often staying late to sign autographs and visit with fans after games.
