The Caledonia High School softball team pulled out a 12-11 win against Tupelo High School on Friday night in Tupelo.
The Confederates (4-2) finished off the Golden Wave when Tupelo’s India Ivy lined into a double play with a runner on second base in the the bottom of the seventh. Caledonia broke a 10-10 tie headed into the inning with two runs, but Tupelo only got one back.
Carlee Dale went the distance for Caledonia, allowing 16 hits and striking out 10 batters.
Lauren Brown, Allison Pennington, Kaydence Sudduth and Jada Glasgow each had multiple hits for the ‘Feds. Pennington drove in three runs to lead the team.
Caledonia will play North Pontotoc at 12:30 p.m. and Russellville (Alabama) at 4 p.m. in the Itawamba Community College Spring Break Classic on Monday in Fulton.
