Kemper County High School has hired Starkville High School wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator Rashaun Westerfield as its new head coach, the Kemper County School District announced Wednesday.
Westerfield, a graduate of Kemper County, was an assistant coach on the Wildcats’ 2016 state championship team. He also won a state championship as an assistant at Louisville in 2018.
Westerfield’s promotion comes less than six weeks after Randal Montgomery, Starkville’s offensive coordinator and previously the head coach at Columbus High School was hired as North Panola’s new head coach Jan. 24.
