The Heritage Academy boys basketball team cruised to victory in the first round of the MAIS overall tournament, taking down Humphreys Academy 77-29.
The Patriots (27-10) advance to face Presbyterian Christian at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mississippi College in Clinton.
Three Heritage players finished in double figures, including Mack Howard (16 points), Eli Acker (14) and Jared Long (13). Twelve different players scored.
Oak Hill falls in MAIS overall tournament
Oak Hill’s season came to an end Monday, falling in the MAIS overall tournament to Simpson Academy 49-44. Branden Stevenson led Oak Hill with 22 points and seven rebounds.
The Cougars advance to face the winner of the DeSoto Academy vs. Christian Collegiate Academy game at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.
