Mississippi University for Women forward My’Neka Frazier has been named the Renasant Bank Athlete of the Month for January, according to a news release from the school.
Frazier is averaging a double-double on the season for the Owls, recording 13.4 points per game and 13.0 rebounds per game.
The senior transfer from East Central Community College averaged 20.4 points and 15.4 rebounds per game in January, including a 30-point, 27-rebound game against Judson College.
“My’Neka has played a vital role for us this year and she’s done so while playing out of position the entirety of her senior season,” head coach Drew Johnson said in the news release. “She has shown great versatility and demonstrated a drive to do whatever is best for her team no matter what is required of her. She has been the embodiment of selflessness and has proven to be a fantastic example for our younger players to follow for years to come. I can’t say enough about the job she has done this year and I’m glad she is being recognized for the work she has put in.”
