Dr. Cheyenne Trussell, the athletic director for the Starkville Oktibbeha Consolidated School District, will depart after the 2019-20 academic year to take the same position at the Meridian Public School District.
The MPSD announced Trussell’s hiring with a press release Wednesday, and he will be introduced at noon Thursday in the multipurpose building at Meridian High School.
Trussell attended Meridian High, graduating from the school in 1979. He worked as executive director of student services and activities for the Hattiesburg Public School District before coming to Starkville in 2017.
“I am so glad that Dr. Trussell is coming home to his alma mater,” MPSD Superintendent Dr. Amy Carter said in the release. “He knows that the Meridian Public School District strives for excellence and is accustomed to success in all phases of athletics. I am looking forward to Dr. Trussell being part of that Wildcat success again.”
