Columbus High School junior point guard DJ Jackson recorded a triple-double in a slightly unconventional way during Tuesday night’s 60-21 home win over West Point.
The 5-foot-3 Jackson scored 23 points, hauled in 10 rebounds and recorded 10 steals to make the achievement in the victory for the Falcons girls.
Senior teammate Aniya Saddler had a double-double with 14 rebounds and 10 steals as well as recording five assists.
The Falcons (17-3) will host New Hope on Friday.
Columbus boys 69, West Point 35
The Columbus boys earned a 69-35 win over West Point on Tuesday in Columbus.
Gabe Williams scored 23 points for the Falcons (14-8). Eric Caldwell had 15, and Blake Burnett had 10.
New Hope boys 72, Grenada 64
NEW HOPE — The New Hope boys team beat Grenada 72-64 in Tuesday’s home game.
Jaylen Smith scored 26 points for the Trojans (19-1, 5-0 district), and Caleb Parr had 21. LJ Hackman scored nine points, and DJ Hughes had eight.
New Hope visits Columbus on Friday.
New Hope girls 47, Grenada 31
NEW HOPE — The New Hope girls beat Grenada 47-31 on Tuesday in New Hope.
Anna Prince scored 18 points for the Trojans, and Imoni Harris had 10.
Heritage Academy boys 81, Lamar School 56
The Heritage Academy boys team beat Lamar School 81-56 in Tuesday’s home game.
Reid Huskison led the Patriots with 21 points. Steele Altmyer scored 13, Jared Long scored 12, and Adam Koussih scored 10.
West Lowndes boys 70, Nanih Waiya 41
LOUISVILLE — The West Lowndes boys beat Nanih Waiya 70-41 in Tuesday’s road game.
Five players scored in double figures for the Panthers: Albert Plair had 18 points, Decamby Willis had 13, and Jherquaveus Sanders, Darrell Brooks and Jataquist Brown all had 10.
The Panthers will host Ethel next Tuesday, Feb. 4.
West Lowndes girls 46, Nanih Waiya 31
LOUISVILLE — The West Lowndes girls beat Nanih Waiya 46-31 on Tuesday in Louisville.
The Panthers improved to 18-0 with the victory.
Columbus Christian Academy boys 85, Kemper Academy 58
STEENS — The Columbus Christian Academy boys team beat Kemper Academy 85-58 in Tuesday’s home game, the final home contest for the Rams this season.
A pair of seniors led CCA on its senior night. Lawson Studdard scored 37 points, and Will Teague had 20.
The Rams will close the regular season on Thursday at Hebron Christian School in Pheba.
Columbus Christian Academy girls 57, Kemper Academy 23
STEENS — The lone senior on the Columbus Christian girls team set a career high for points on senior night Tuesday as the Rams beat Kemper Academy 57-23 in Steens.
Kylie Emerson had 24 points to set a new career-high mark. Cayden Harding scored 11 points, and Morgan Whitten had nine.
Noxubee County boys 57, Choctaw County 44
MACON — The Noxubee County boys team beat Choctaw County 57-44 in Tuesday’s home game.
Dantavian Davis had 11 points for the Tigers. Jadakiss Williams and Anthony Little each scored nine.
Noxubee County will play at Kosciusko on Thursday.
Noxubee County girls 53, Choctaw County 49
MACON — The Noxubee County girls edged Choctaw County 53-49 on Tuesday in Macon.
Eighth grader Na’Kailya Mason led the Tigers again with 25 points, and Aadijah Williams scored 10.
Starkville Academy girls 35, East Rankin Academy 22
PELAHATCHIE — The Starkville Academy girls beat East Rankin Academy 35-22 in Tuesday’s road game in Pelahatchie.
Caroline Wood scored 13 points for the Volunteers, and Lillee Alpe had 10.
Starkville Academy will host Madison-Ridgeland Academy on Friday.
Indianola Academy girls 44, Oak Hill Academy 35
The Oak Hill Academy girls lost to Indianola 44-35 in Tuesday’s home game in West Point.
Rachel McLain had 20 points for Oak Hill, and McKenzie Middleton was the Raiders’ next-highest scorer with six points.
Pickens Academy (Ala.) boys 62, North River Christian Academy 54
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The Pickens Academy (Alabama) boys team beat North River Christian Academy (Alabama) 62-54 in Tuesday’s road game in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
Seth Peeks had 15 points, Travis Dean had 12, and Rafe Brown had 11.
All of North River’s scoring came from three players: Lakewili Rice (22 points), Montae Callaway (20) and Devin Mitchell (12).
Pickens Academy (13-7) will play at Tuscaloosa Academy on Thursday.
