The Mississippi University for Women ranked ninth in the first round of standings for the 2019-20 United States Collegiate Athletic Association Directors Cup.
The Directors Cup standings are based on results from national championships in golf, volleyball, soccer and cross country as well as 2019 National Convention attendance and sports offering.
St. Mary of the Woods led the Directors Cup standings with 476 total points. Second-place SUNY Delhi had 373, and third-place Penn State Fayette had 372.
The W earned points for its fifth-place finish in golf, a fourth-place finish in women’s soccer and a fifth-place finish in men’s soccer and a 12th-place finish in men’s cross country Madeline Newman set a university record in women’s cross country.
The standings will be updated after the 2020 USCAA basketball championships this winter.
