Starting next month, you can find two new places in Columbus to spend your lunch break in a healthier fashion.
Columbus Nutrition will open at 2020 Hwy. 45, offering loaded teas and healthy protein shakes. Owners, Luke and Avery Adkins, are opening a sister-store of Starkville Nutrition that opened August 2018.
In downtown Columbus, a second Starkville Nutrition spin-off will also open in late May. Michael and Rachel Womack will open Second Ave. Nutrition, 424 Second Ave. N. When open, you can enjoy loaded teas Monday through Friday 7 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
Although the stores will operate separately, you can find the same shakes, teas and meal replacements at each location.
Late last year, Amy and Matt Bogue, owners of Allegro Clinic, purchased Brickerton Day Spa. Now, the spa has been revamped under a new name “Allegro Medspa.” The rebrand is made in collaboration with the Bogues’ clinic. All staff and business will remain as usual at the spa, but Amy said she is continuing to add new services for the spa customers.
“Hopefully this will give (spa customers) easier access to health care. If you need to get seen we can make that happen,” Amy said. “Say someone comes into the clinic for back pain — I would love for our providers to send them to the spa for a massage before putting them on medicine. We just kind of want to marry medicine and wellness together and promote being healthy overall.”
The spa has also partnered with Dr. Ross Bunch, a plastic surgeon from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to offer injections, fillers and free consultations once a month.
Veteran and new customers to the spa can now make appointments online at allegromedspa.net.
Office Depot has hoisted up signs advertising its closing sale with up to 70 percent off merchandise. The Dispatch previously announced the store’s closure last month. Store officials confirmed it will shutter its doors May 18.
If your Saturday looks free, head over to West Point for the community-wide yard sale. Sponsored by the West Point Growth Alliance, you can check out scattered yard sales around West Point and find exactly what you didn’t know you were looking for from 8 a.m.-noon.
