Starkville police confirmed Sunday afternoon that a missing teenager has been found and is safe.
Police were looking for 17-year-old Jakyiya Fairchild, of Starkville, and asked for public assistance in finding her on Saturday afternoon.
“Fairchild has been found in good condition,” SPD Public Information Officer Brandon Lovelady said in an issued statement. “Chief Frank Nichols and the Starkville Police Department appreciate our community’s assistance to resolve this incident.”
Lovelady confirmed Sunday evening that Fairchild was found at an apartment on Louisville Street. SPD had not, as of Monday morning, released any further information on the case.
Fairchild’s family had not seen her since she left for work at the Waffle House on Highway 12 in Starkville on Jan. 1, according to Lovelady.
