Dist. 37 candidate asks for vote
It has been a pleasure to meet so many of you on the campaign trail. I want to especially thank those who have assisted with our campaign; either through prayer, encouraging words, advice, financial support, allowing us to put up campaign signs, and those who have gone door to door with us.
We have tried to reach everyone, but that has been an impossible feat in the less than two months of campaigning. The special election is an unusual contest, with none of the candidates allowed to run on a party ticket. I am and have been a conservative Republican all my life. From what I understand, I may be the only Republican candidate. I respect my Libertarian opposition. I have been elected twice as the Republican Superintendent of the Lowndes County School District. This was a position I was proud and blessed to hold. We had a great team and with the efforts of the dedicated faculty, staff, students, and parents our district achieved an “A” rating.
Our district became not only of the highest performing districts in the state but one of the most effective and efficient districts. During this time period two new school buildings were constructed replacing old inefficient buildings from the 1950s. A State of the Art Career Tech Center was constructed serving some 300 students each year. Last year it was named top CTC in the State.
A major construction project was completed through a $44,000,000 bond issue, lease purchase and fund balance. Over $20,000,000 of projected revenue promised from different phases rolling of fee-in-lieu and going to ad valorem did not materialized. Still through effective and efficient management of resources, taxes were not raised. They were actually cut twice
I am a conservative Christian, former teacher, coach, Athletic, Director, Principal, Headmaster, Superintendent, I am married to my one and only wife Ginger (45 years). We have three sons, three wonderful daughters-in-law and five wonderful grandchildren.
My Christian values and faith influence my position on issues. I am pro-life, pro-education, pro-prayer anywhere, pro-military, pro-law enforcement/first responders, pro-constitution, and pro-Second Amendment.
I would appreciate your consideration in the election on September 22.

God Bless you,
