State licenses should be recognized nationwide
People need to realize that laws apply equally, or should. Take, for instance, the argument that people who have permits to carry concealed weapons in one state should have that permit recognized all across America. Then some say that the marriage license between two men issued in one state should be recognized all over America. Some say NO to one but YES to the other. You can’t have your cake and eat it too.
What about states’ rights in all this? Well, states can’t pick and choose which licenses they’ll recognize or not either. So why do CA and FL not recognize the EMT licenses issued by the other 48 states, but their EMT licenses are recognized across America?
I don’t believe the federal or state government has the authority to issue or deny marriage licenses to any two adult people. Keep records of them, yes, for posterity. Any license issued by any state should be recognized by every other state as a matter of respect. An artificial political boundary should have no effect on any license or permit.
Since it’s now “hunting season,” let me add this. A hunting license issued by Mississippi should not be recognized in Montana where things — animals and terrain and weather and seasons — are quite different.
This country has a lot more serious problems that need our full attention right now. Let’s work on saving America for everybody. In the end, God will judge us individually by our actions.
