I agree with Candy Vezina that the U.S. has a border problem. Vice-president Harris, charged with addressing this problem for the administration, has made little apparent progress. Probably why her approval ratings are even lower than President Biden’s. But I am a Democrat and many (probably most, maybe even all) of my Democrat friends agree. So maybe ditch the broad stereotyping brush.
But I should also point out that the border issue is one among many and perhaps not #1 on the list of priorities for most of us. That comment aside, in my view, even a minimal effort on Ms. Vezina’s part to examine the root causes of all those migrants – demonstrating at least some objectivity – and some ideas on how to address some of those factors would certainly have strengthened her letter. Otherwise, it’s just non-constructive complaining.
