Tuesday, November 8 is election day. Many may say “so what”? My vote doesn’t count, it’s just one vote. Others just don’t care, it’s too much trouble. Apathy! Voting is the only voice a citizen has in government. So it’s very important we elect the right person for office. In the “District 37” election, two men are running for this office. I have to support David Chism for several reasons. This is his second time to run for the office. As the saying goes, it’s not his first rodeo. After losing his first race he didn’t get discouraged but kept on being active in politics. He is young enough to appeal to all voters and has a drive to serve and make a difference that I have not seen in some time. Several weeks ago at a New Hope football game, I saw David and introduced my sister to him. She asked him why he was running for political office. One of his statements made an impact on both of us. He said “I have a fire in my bones to serve”. That’s exactly the type of person in Jackson we need. Someone with a “fire” to serve.
Vote for David Chism on November 8. You will not be disappointed
God Bless America!
