What you are about to read are my thoughts and opinions. I realize some won’t approve or believe what they are about to read as that is their right!
As I see the Black Lives Matter hats and shirts being worn, I’ve been thinking a lot about it over a period. As you know, I’m a Black woman, daughter, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. So, I truly believe Black Lives Matter, but I also truly believe All Lives Matter regardless of anyone’s color. The main reason I believe this is because as most of you know, we all come from One. This is whether you believe it or not. I cannot and will not believe the One we came from approves of the way we are treating each other.
The thing is we as Black people don’t like how Blacks are being treated by some whites and the police. As I look around almost every day, I see Blacks killing Blacks and some of us are upset for a minute. My problem with this is “Dead is Dead,” regardless of who is doing the killing. I don’t want anyone to get the impression that I am ok with young Blacks getting killed for next to nothing by the police or some racist whites. I also don’t like the fact that Blacks are killing each other like our lives don’t matter. There are too many parents losing their children, be it by death or the prison system. I do realize there is a very big difference in the two. I hear people say some of it is due to mental health. Is there anyone out there that thinks like I do? That some of these killings are plain and simple evil! To kill someone because of the color of their skin or the type of shoes they are wearing is plain ludicrous and makes no sense.
Do we not realize there is only one Heaven and one Hell? There’s a saying that goes, “I’d rather live like there is a God and die and find out that there is not a God, then to live like there is not a God and die and find out there is a God”. Which one on these would you want to be?
As I watch the news — yes, I’ve started back watching — I see people, especially children, dying of starvation. Yet, here in America, the country that I love, we are killing each other over nothing. Does anyone besides myself see a very big problem with this? I know I quote the Bible in a lot of my letters. I know what’s in the Bible must be fulfilled. I also know God gave us the right to choose. Sometimes, I wish He just had us to do the right thing, but I know that’s not His way. I used to wonder if we all tried to do what’s right would that alter our time here, but I also know that’s not His way either.
I want you to know when I write, I include myself in all I say. So, GTA lets try to do better because All Lives are Precious.
