I would like to thank The Commercial Dispatch for their coverage of this event on May 12. Brian Jones in his excellent article captured the essence of what was done at Zachary’s to honor Edwina Williams.
I would also like to thank WCBI for their coverage as well as Zachary’s for providing the venue. They are a business that continues to promote the best in our community.
I would like to thank James Allen for recommending Hoot Wilder, who did a great job putting together the music to accompany the lyrics. The Mayor was a great sport about all of this. Both the Mayor and Hoot worked very long and hard to fine tune their performances.
The purpose of all of this was to recognize, honor, and to say thanks to a very special lady who has had a profound influence on so many lives over a long period of time. She has genuinely touched children and parents in a very positive way.
Also, thanks to all of you who showed up to help us celebrate this special occasion.
