The revelation regarding the continued financial problems the City of Columbus is having further confirms there is a dire need for an audit to determine the real financial position of the city. A $1,800,000 hit to the general fund has to be a blow to the budget. Along with the continued unbudgeted spending by the council, it will be a real awakening come budgeting in July. It is time for our city leaders to quit bemoaning what members are doing and truly sit down with our new COO Jammie Garrett to find the solutions that will right the ship.
Second thought, the Roses and Thorns column on Sunday should have gone to the Trotter manager, Rogena Bonner, because she made the Mayor aware of the money not going to the Trotter.
