I am so glad gas-powered lawn mowers, blowers and possibly weed eaters will be outlawed by the new noise ordinance except during city and Visit Columbus events since they register 80-plus decibels.
Isn’t it odd the only exemptions to the ordinance are cars that are loud from the factory, particularly Dodge Chargers, which were known to run up and down streets of Southside long past 10 p.m. during the curfew last year with no repercussions except riling the neighbors enough to be granted speed bumps to anyone who wished to have one, or so it seemed. We are now home to the biggest speed bumps in the world.
Motorcyclists often choose to modify their pipes under the “loud pipes save lives” premise, but they may not survive our speed bumps.
There’s a new dog barking on my block today. Give him a ticket.
