Does it strike anyone else as odd that all (and only) Columbus city council members who served in the “Time of Financial Fraud” voted to shut the door on further examination of the city’s finances during their time in office? (Ethel Stewart did not serve that entire time; her brother did.)
I particularly resent Rev. Mickens resort to the verses in Luke whose context is this: detach yourself from all material things if you would commit yourself to Christ. I would suggest their vote indicates a determination to remain attached to material things. I suggest another verse from the Bible: Thou shalt not steal.
