Governor Tate Reeves says the COVID response is not political. But in a speech at the Neshoba County fair, a mostly conservative political gathering, he said wearing a face mask is “foolish” and “harmful.”
Considering where his statement was made, it sure led me to believe it was a political statement, since most Republicans and Trump supporters have similar opinions.
After reading Slim Smith’s column about Sen. Wicker’s claim that mask wearing can affect a child’s face, maybe now I know how Reeves arrives at the “harmful” part, but foolish, that may take a little more explaining.
But thank you Governor, for the correction.
