As an M.D., I applaud Peter Imes’ courage to give the facts about the necessity to get the well tested and effective Covid vaccine and to institute a vaccine mandate for his employees. A mandate will prevent an unvaccinated employee from spreading Covid to others. There should not be a “choice” to give the disease to another when it could be prevented. Mr. Imes and I may be on the opposite ends of the political spectrum, but this isn’t about politics even though some in government have made it so, pandering to those who are misinformed by social media and others about the safety of the vaccine. It’s about getting the vaccine and avoiding serious illness or death. The unvaccinated are the vast majority of those seriously ill, completely filling hospital ICU’s, thereby preventing those with non Covid illnesses from being treated in a timely manner.
