Guns and presidents

A gun is like an insurance policy, it’s better to have one and not need it that to need on and not have it. I have simply presented a gun three times in my life and prevented a crime upon me without firing a single shot. It’s 10 times worse, a thousand times worse if you don’t have one because the government says you can’t when the document that founded our nation guarantees every citizen that right.

People can and do misuse guns to commit planned or spontaneous crimes and crimes of passion, and the only way to stop those people is to have a gun of your own.

The best way to prevent accidental shootings is to teach your children how to properly and responsibly handle firearms. Anytime something is taboo, it automatically becomes an attention magnet to those denied access or ignorant about its use. Children in school should be taught gun handling properly. Political correctness is ruining this country.

We have wasted money on the “war on drugs.” By one account, over $17 trillion has been spent since Johnson declared this “war.” That’s almost our national debt. Politicians sure know how to waste other people’s money. Want to know how politicians get so rich in office? They don’t spend their own money, they spend other people’s money.

I don’t condone “recreational” drug abuse, but if all drugs were regulated and taxed, like the drugs of tobacco (nicotine) and alcohol, this country would have money flowing into the coffers instead of spilling out.

Laws relating to age requirements to possess and use, and legal limits of intoxication, could be written to help enforce the abuse of substances. The monies derived from taxation could also fund treatment programs. The quality of the drugs would improve and the cost would come down.

An article in Sunday’s paper mused on the question of whether or not Hillary Clinton would run for president in 2016. … she will be 70 years old. It’s time for her to go home and bake cookies and pester Chelsea to have her some grandchildren This country does not need a menopausal old dingbat liberal extremist in the oval office … We need somebody who not only knows how to turn this country around the right way but also has the will to do it.

It won’t be long before this country will have more people on welfare than are working, and that is unsustainable. Our country is dying and Washington politicians don’t seem to care as long as they keep getting re-elected.
