Sandra Cathey: One woman’s answer to Amendment 26

Sandra Cathey: One woman’s answer to Amendment 26

I am frightened at the loss of women’s rights. Amendment 26 will take away women’s liberties, freedom, and control over their bodies. This amendment is against the Constitution of the United States of America.

We women have had our rights for only a short time and the male population has had life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness much longer so I am writing an amendment to replace Amendment 26. Men will only lose two of their small liberties and this amendment will save the economy, prevent women who terminate a pregnancy accidentally or on purpose from being tried for murder and serving time in prison. I am sure that all men will agree to this amendment to prevent their mothers, wives, sisters, mistresses, daughters, and grandchildren from being prosecuted. I call my Amendment 9-19-90.

1. All men in Mississippi between the age of 9 and 90 shall have bilateral castrations before the end of January 2012.

2. The cost will be paid by the saving Mississippi will have in the year 2013 (and hopefully until the 8-year-olds become old enough to reproduce.)

a. Benefits like Medicaid and Welfare will start declining as soon as the birth rate is zero and the elderly are dying and not replaced. These new savings alone will pay for the castration of millions.

b. Hospitals will be able to close their money losing obstetric units, newborn nurseries, and neonatal intensive care units, thereby saving the hospitals and the State of Mississippi millions of dollars.

c. Obstetricians will save money because, no longer will they need to pay their exorbitant malpractice insurance, plus these physicians will be healthier with less stress, more sleep, and more regular working hours.

d. Millions of dollars will be saved by no longer needing infant childcare, social workers for foster children, and free immunizations by the state health departments.

e. Productivity in companies will improve with no women needing maternity leave. Companies will he able to negotiate cheaper health insurance for their employees.

3. By 2019 there will be added savings and school taxes can be decreased. Schools will be able to fire all their kindergarten, lst, and 2nd grade teachers and close all those unneeded classrooms. There will be fewer school buses needed.

Please men don’t take away women’s rights; vote NO to Amendment 26, but honestly remember 9-19- 90 would save Mississippi millions of dollars, and it would only take away two little male liberties.
