We are writing to you to enlist your support and participation in an effort that we believe is vital to the future welfare of many defenseless animals in Lowndes County.
On Wednesday, July 29, at 1:30 p.m., a local man will go on trial at the Colum-bus Municipal Complex for the crime of dog fighting. Because Mississippi”s animal welfare laws are weak and, historically, cruelty to animals has not been taken seriously, it is crucial that we seize this opportunity to demonstrate that we will not stand for such heinous, horrendous victimization of defenseless animals!
There are three critical ways that you can have an impact on this effort: 1. Attend the trial, this Wednesday to rally in support of “man”s best friend.” Bring signs, bring your voice, make yourself heard. 2. Forward this e-mail/tell as many fellow animal lovers as possible. Remember, there is strength in numbers. 3. Contact your public officials (local, county, state, and federal)
We will meet at the Columbus Municipal Complex (1501 Main Street), in the parking lot, at 1 p.m.
If you have questions or ideas, please call us at 662.241.9931 or 662.242.3995.
Remember, they can”t speak for themselves, so we must speak for them.
