MACON — Willie Tyson Oliver, 76, died May 19, 2009, at his residence in Macon. Services are Saturday at 11 a.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnny L. Moore officiating. Visitation is today from noon-5 p.m. at Lee-Sykes Funeral Home of Macon. Mr. Oliver was born Aug. 30, 1932, to the late Matthew and Linnie Sims-Oliver. He was retired from Valley Gravel Co. after 33 years of service. He worked as a heavy machine operator. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda Oliver. He is survived by his wife, Clara Harlan Oliver of Macon; son, Willie Lester Oliver of Macon; daughter, Wanda Oliver-Bledsoe of Macon; brother, Charlie Oliver of St. Louis; sisters, Nanie O. McKinley of St. Louis and Minerva O. Jones of New Orleans; three grandchildren and one great-grandson. Pallbearers will be members of the Class of 1979.
