CARROLLTON, Ala. — Willie Stafford Noland, 79, died June 5, 2009, at Aliceville Manor Nursing Home. Graveside services are Monday at 11 a.m. at Union Chapel Cemetery in Aliceville, Ala., with the Revs. Jay and Chris Noland officiating. Visitation is Monday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Dogwood Chapel in Aliceville. Skelton Funeral of Reform, Ala., is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Noland was born May 7, 1930, in Pickens County, Ala., to the late James Samuel Noland and Etta Rae Windle Noland. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a retired machinist for Toroid in Huntsville. He was a member of Carrollton United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant son, James Randy Noland; four brothers and one sister. He is survived by his wife, Frances Luker Noland of Carrollton; sons, the Rev. Jay Noland of Woodlawn, Va., and Bobby Stafford Noland of Aliceville; sister, Laura Woodard of Birmingham, Ala.; brother, Gerald Noland of Caledonia; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
