CRAWFORD — Willie E. “Money” Edwards Jr., 82, died Feb. 21, 2009, in Starkville. Services are Saturday at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Grove MB Church in Crawford with the Rev. Riley Forrest Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation is today from 1-6 p.m. at Century Hairston Funeral Home in Columbus. Mr. Edwards was born July 11, 1926, in Oktibbeha County to the late Willie Edwards Sr. and Martha Colvin Edwards. He retired after 20 years from Bryan Foods and after 28 years at Borden’s plant. He served in his church as a trustee, deacon, Sunday school teacher and superintendent, and Bible class teacher for many years. He is survived by his wife, Ada L. Edwards of Crawford; sons, Bobby Stallings of Starkville, Julious Edwards of St. Louis, Karl Edwards of Natchez, Michael Edwards of Pontoon Beach, Ill, Edwin Edwards of Crawford, Dr. Kenny Edwards of Beavercreek, Ohio, and Dr. Derrick Edwards of Brandon; daughters, Evelyn Jefferson of Crawford, Linda Clay of Winnfield, La., Bonita Edwards Thomas of Cordova, Tenn., and Felicia Simpson of Arlington, Tenn. Pallbearers will be Paul Jackson, Sammie Wilson, Leondand Stevenson, Bobby Jefferson, Lloyd Johnson and Robert Rogers.
