STARKVILLE — William Leonard Smith, 81, died Feb. 2, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle. Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Meadowview Baptist Church with the Rev. Jason Middleton officiating. Burial will follow at Craig Springs Cemetery in Sturgis. Visitation will be two hours prior to services at the church. Welch Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Smith was born to the late William Archie Smith and Lillian Acker Smith. He was formerly employed as manager with Campus Bookmart. He was a member of the National Guard and Meadowview Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Smith; son, John Allen Smith; and nine siblings. He is survived by his daughter, Donna Smith Conly of Houston, Texas; son, Larry Wayne Smith of Columbus; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
