William Lanier

COLUMBUS — William V. Lanier, 84, died June 14, 2022.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, at Carter’s Funeral Services, with Juvante Burks Sr. officiating. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Lanier was born Nov. 19, 1937, in Columbus, to the alte William Lanier Sr. and Annie Lanier. He was a member of 10th Street M.B. Church.

He is survived by his children, Michael Pope, Anthony McGee, Simon Pippins, all of Columbus, Cynthia Gaston, Kenneth Lanier, Genese Bacon, Teresa Lanier, all of Los Angeles, California, and Yvett Pippins of Jackson; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
