COLUMBUS — Wilderdean “Judy” Trimuel Pruitt, 73, died Sept. 2, 2021, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle.
Graveside services will be at noon Sunday, at Tabernacle CME Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Richard A. McKay officiating. Visitation will be from 1-5 p.m. Saturday, at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Pruitt was born March 8, 1948, in Pickens County, Alabama, to the late Shead Trimuel and Sylvester Trimuel. She was a graduate of R.E. Hunt High School and was formerly employed as a preschool teacher at Pride and Joy Learning Center. She was a member of Tabernacle CME Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George D. Pruitt; and daughter, Pietra Pruitt.
She is survived by her children, Tiffany Pruitt, Chanta Pruitt, Stanley Pruitt, George Pruitt Jr., Eric Pruitt, all of Columbus, Marlon Pruitt of West Point and Jarvis Pruitt of South Carolina; siblings, Shead Trimuel Jr., Bernard Trimuel, Brenda Hall, Upea Carter, all of Columbus and Tomekia Ribac of Newport New, Virginia; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Malcom Hill, Carlos Mullins, Bryan Carter, Ollie Lee Jr., Kelly Markray and Leonard Wells.
