WEST POINT — Wardell “Jimmy” Amos, 71, died May 31, 2009, at Druid City Hospital-Tuscaloosa, Ala. Services are Friday at 1 p.m. at Oak Grove MB Church in Columbus with the Rev. Thurman Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow at Tibbee Community Cemetery. Visitation is today from 3-8 p.m. at Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus. Mr. Amos was born Nov. 13, 1937, in Tibbee to the late Adam and Lucinda Watson Amos. He was a member of Oak Grove MB Church, CFU and Tibbee Development Club. He was employed at Mississippi Skill Craft. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Caroline Amos Addison, Rosie Cannon Amos, James Adams Amos Jr., Luther G. Amos, John Ed Amos and Mildred Cole Amos. He is survived by his brother, Joe B. Amos of West Point; and sisters, Earnestine Wicks of West Point and Pryscilla Net Moore of Chicago. Pallbearers will be Corki and Robert Wicks, Robert Moore, and James R., Larry B. and Joel Keith Amos.
