Walter Pritchett

BUHL, Ala. — Walter Gerald Pritchett, 68, died March 19, 2009, at the Priceton Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham, Ala. Services are today at 2 p.m. at Skeleton Funeral Home with the Rev. Leon White officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation is today from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Pritchett was born Sept. 2, 1940, in Gordo, Ala., to the late Walter Lando Pritchett and Marie Skeleton Pritchett. He was a member of the Alabama National Guard HHC. He was in 31st Separate Armed Brigade Dixie Division for 35 years and four months and held numerous honors. He retired from the Tuscaloosa Department of Transportation with 33 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Deborah Garner Pritchett of Buhl; sons, Kenneth Pritchett of Moundville, Ala., Robert Pritchett of Forkland, Ala., Melvin Garner and Greg Garner, both of Buhl; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Pallbearers will be Anthony Pritchett, Josh Williams, Robert Lagrone, Josh Green, Mike, and Ricky Skeleton. Memorials may be made to Gideons International Pickens County Camp, P.O.
