SHUQUALAK — Walter H. “Pete” Boykin, 76, died July 6, 2019, at Noxubee County Nursing Home. Services are at 2 p.m. today at Butler Pentecostal Church. Burial will follow at Butler Cemetery. Visitation is two hours prior to services at the church. Cockrell Funeral Home of Macon is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Boykin was born May 26, 1943, in Brooksville, to the late Charles Cockrell and Bessie Mae Boykin. He attended Macon High School and was formerly employed in the logging industry and as owner and operator of Shuqualak Scrap Yard. HE was a member of Butler Pentecostal Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sherlene Boykin; and brothers, Earl Boykin, William Gray Boykin and Charlie Boykin Jr. He is survived by his children, Sherrie Eaves of Macon, Sandy Eaves and Bill Boykin, both of Preston; sisters, Jo Ladner of Gulf Shores, Alabama and Mary Lou Morton of Starkville; brother, Jessie Boykin of Pascagoula; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
