Vernon Turk

REFORM, Ala. — Vernon Lee Turk, 81, died Sept. 29, 2021, at his residence.
Funeral services are at 1 p.m. today, at Skelton Funeral Home, with Mike Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Morvin, Alabama. Visitation is one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Skelton Funeral Home of Reform is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Turk was born Jan. 16, 1940, in Alabama, to the late John Turk and Lina Ethridge Turk. He was formerly employed as so-owner of Carquest Auto Parts and was a member of New Salem Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Turk; siblings, Jimmy Truk, buddy Turk and Stanley Turk; and one grandchild.
He is survived by his children, Brenda Jackson of Tuscaloosa, Neva Slayton, Darwin L. Turk of Columbus, John Turk and Bradley L. Turk, both of Tuscaloosa; siblings, Walter Turk, Mary Brannon and Catherine Downey; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jerry W. Jackson Jr., Roy Thomas, Elijah Turk, Dillon Turk, Nathan Strickland, Austin Strickland, Josh Turk, Jacob Turk, Cody Strickland and Steve Turk.
