ABERDEEN — Velma Clark Gilmore, 87, died Feb. 18, 2009, in Sioux City, Iowa. Services are today at 1:30 p.m. at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel with Sister Lounez Scrivner and Bro. Truman Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Coontail Cemetery near Aberdeen. Visitation was from 5-8 p.m. yesterdapy evening and will continue until service time today at the funeral home. Ms. Gilmore was born Feb. 16, 1922, in Wren to the late John Johnson and Mary Ellen Pickle Clark. She lived most of her life in Monroe County and was a member of the Tranquil United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Charles Gilmore; brothers, Amos and Douglas Clark; sisters, Gertrude Parrish, Reba Nash, and Edna Warren; and two infant granddaughters. She is survived by her son, Troy Gilmore of Sioux City; daughters, Ruby Most of Sioux City, and Rachel Barnes of Wren; 12 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be great-grandsons.ract
