Tommy Lee Coggin, Sr. of Columbus, MS died unexpectedly March 17, 2009. Visitation will be at Memorial Funeral Home in Columbus, Mississippi on Thursday, March 19, 2009, from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 20 2009, at 11 a.m. at the Point of Grace Church in Columbus, MS. Burial will follow at Lee Memorial Park Cemetery in Verona, Mississippi at 1:30 pm. Mr. Coggin, a native of Tupelo, was born July 22, 1945, and was the son of the late James Abrom Coggin and Inez Cowsert Coggin of Tupelo. Mr. Coggin graduated from Mississippi State University in 1967 with a degree in Business Administration and was a member of Phi Kappa Tau fraternity. His first job was with Hancock Fabrics in Tupelo and he later became a buyer for Northwest Fabrics in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Returning to Mississippi he settled with his family in Columbus where he joined Parker & Associates of Meridian as an insurance agent until physical disabilities caused him to take an early retirement after 12 years of service . He was a member of the Point of Grace Church of Columbus. An ever-faithful MSU Bulldog fan, Mr. Coggin enjoyed fresh water fishing and loved good friends. Mr. Coggin leaves his wife of 41 years, Susan Pitts Coggin. He is also survived by his children, Tommy Lee Coggin, Jr. and his wife Crystal of Sturgis, Lisa Inez Coggin of Columbus, and Lindsey Abrom Coggin and his wife Amber of Decatur; his grandchildren Allison Leigh Coggin, Ethan Abrom Coggin, and Ella Marie Coggin. He is also survived by his brother, James Anthony Coggin of Jackson and his family. Memorials may be made to the Mississippi State University Foundation, P. O.
