MACON — Tommie Lee Harlan Jr., 87, died Nov. 14, 2022, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. at Macedonia. Lee-Sykes Funeral Home of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Harlan was born Oct. 28, 1935, in Noxubee County, to the late Tommie Harlan Sr. and Viola Patterson-Harlan. He was formerly employed with Ellis Tires and was a member of Macedonia M.B. Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Fern Bledsoe-Harlan; daughter, Florence Neal; step-son, Daryl Bledsoe; and siblings, Earlene Harlan, Bobby Harlan, Otha Lee “Bro” Harlan, Ollie Harlan-Wilson and Leon Harlan.
He is survived by his fiancé, Eula Beck Calmese; daughters, Carrie Hogue of Montgomery, Alabama, and Nicole Smith of Detroit, Michigan; sons, Will Harlan of Norcross, Georgia, Larry Rocker and Vachal Lee Moore Sr., all of Detroit, Michigan; stepchildren, Kenneth Bledson of Macon, Maryll Moore of Detroit; brothers, Levarn Harlan of Racine, Wisconsin, Clarence Harlan, Ernest “Red” Harlan, both of Macon; sisters, Clara Oliver of Macon, mary Lou “Doll” Glover of Waukegan, Illinois, Pecola Harlan of White Plains, Maryland, Mildred Booker of Racine, Wisconsin, and Bonnie Beck of Macon; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
