KENNEDY, Ala.,– Thurman Joe McDaniel Sr.,, 83, died July 3, 2009, at his residence. Services were Sunday at 2 p.m. with Bro. James Walden, Bro. J.C. Rushing, Bro. Joe Newell and his son in law, Bro. Steve McAdams officiating. Burial followed at Meadow Branch Cemetery. Dowdle Funeral Home of Millport, Ala. was in charge of the arrangements. Mr. McDaniel was born Apr. 23, 1926, and was a long time resident of Kennedy, Ala. He was a U.S. veteran of WWII. He worked in the timber business. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Gilbert McDaniel and Myrtle Brock McDaniel and brothers, Ray and Buck McDaniel. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Foster McDaniel, daughter, Charlotte McAdams, of Fayetteville, Ga. ;; sons, Thurman Joe McDaniel, of Nashville, John McDaniel, of Kennedy; sister, Mildred Cash, of Florence; and 10 grandchildren. Pallbearers are his grandsons: Andrew, Ian, Michael and Dillon McDaniel and Daniel and Jeffrey McAdams .
