WEST POINT — Thomas E. “Pappy” Pearson, 92, died June 5, 2021, at North Mississippi Medical Center of West Point.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today, at Calvert Funeral Home, with James Towery officiating. Burial will follow at Palestine United Methodist Cemetery in Montpelier. Visitation is one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Pearson was born Sept. 12, 1928, in West Point, to the late Nanette Thomson and Noble Samuel Pearson. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was formerly employed as a panel welder’s assistant at Babcock & Wilcox and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Guyla Nelson, David, C.L. and Paul Pearson.
He is survived by his daughter Judy Pearson Ray of West Point; siblings, Sue Bailey of West point and Sammy Pearson of Strong; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jasper Lummus, Andy Moore, Danny Clardy, Mike Pearson, Sam Pearson and Robert Lummus.
