COLUMBUS — Thomas Martin Jr., 92, died June 25, 2022.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Southside M.B. Church, with the Rev. Steven L. James Sr. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 1-5:30 p.m. today, at Hairston and Hairston Funeral Home. Hairston and Hairston Funeral Home of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Martin was born June 15, 1930, in Columbus, to the late Thomas Martin Sr. and Mariah Abrams Martin. He was formerly employed with King Dimensions Sawmill and Beneke.
He is survived by his wife, Lula Mae Martin; daughters, Deborah Lewis of Parrish, Alabama and Doris Smith of Bryant, Arkansas; sons, Thomas Martin III of Temecula, California, Walter Martin of Columbus, Sherman Martin of Fontana, California, Willie T. Wilson of Jackson and Johnny Wilson of Ashburn, Virginia; brothers, R.W. Martin of Columbus, Cornelius Martin of Mission, Texas, Bennie Martin of Shorewood, Illinois and Joe Louis Martin of Edinburgh, Texas; sisters, Rosie Lee Smith of Columbus, Mattie Giles of Holland, Ohio, Lillie Richardson-Wade and Bobbie Robinson, both of Columbus; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
