Thomas Harold (Joe) Love, age 64, of Grenada, died Thursday, March 26th at his home. Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. on Friday, March 27th at National Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 28th, 2009, at Central Baptist Church with Bro. Bill Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Grenada. National Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Joe was born on June 14, 1944, in Maben, MS, to Dr. Frank Lincoln Love, Sr. and Evelyn (Mother) Love. He was a member of Morrison Chapel Baptist Church in Cleveland and attended Central Baptist Church in Grenada. Joe was employed as a County Agent in Mississippi for 31 years. He worked for Bryan Brothers Meat Packing before becoming the 4- H Agent in Greenville. Joe was the County Agent in Bolivar County for 26 years before transferring to Lowndes for five years where he retired. After retirement, he worked as a Pioneer Seed Salesman for ten years. Joe was a member of the Mississippi Cattlemans Association. Joe was also a member of many professional and civic organizations winning numerous awards in all areas. He was a member of the Mississippi Association of County Agriculture Agents where, between 1988 and 1999, he held the offices of Junior Director, Senior Director, Finance Chairman, Secretary- Treasurer, Vice-President and President. He was a Mississippi State sports fan. He also loved hunting and fishing with his grandsons and loved to cook and cater for others. But Joe’s favorite thing was helping people whether it was young people, his family or even his farm customers. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. and Mrs. Frank Love, Sr., and two sisters, Cheryl Love and Ruth McDill. Survivors include his wife, Larraine Smith Love of Grenada; one daughter, Melanie Beck of Grenada; one son, Christopher Hayward and his wife, Amanda, of Duck Hill; seven sisters, Eula Maude Emmerson and her husband, Dan, of Pickwick, TN, Mary Reed and her husband, Raymond, of Smyrna, GA, Peggy Baines, Kitty Sue Love of Meridian, Connie Althen and her husband, Tom, of Starkville, Vicki Crowley and her husband, Steve, of Thomasville, AL and Penny Love of Meridian; one brother, Frank L. Love, Jr., and his wife, Libby, of Tillatoba; and five grandchildren, Thomas Gage Beck, Jacob Gannam Beck, Sterling Dade, Harrison Dade, and Levi Dade.
