Thelma Jean Warren McPherson, 85, of Columbus, MS passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2017, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-GT in Columbus, MS. Memorial Service will be Sunday, October 1, 2017, at 2:00PM at Bethel Baptist Church in Columbus, MS with Bro. Walter Butler officiating and Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing. Visitation will follow from 3:00PM to 4:00PM in the Bethel Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. Mrs. McPherson was born January 2, 1932, in Detroit, AL to the late William and Tera Seals Warren. She married William McPherson December 24, 1947, in Caledonia, MS. Mrs. McPherson was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Columbus, MS since 1952. Her career was book keeping with her last place of employment being Cash and Carry Building Supply. Affectionately known as Mamac, above all else, she loved God and her family. She was extremely talented in sewing, cooking and produced beautiful artwork, having picked up her first paintbrush at age 72. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband- William Clifton McPherson; brothers- Bob Warren, James “Pete” Warren, and sister- Mavis Chandler. Mrs. McPherson is survived by her daughters- Diane (Avery) Duncan, Caledonia, MS, Anita (Don) Logan, Douglasville, GA; grandchildren- Chris (Jenann) Logan, Melia (Michael) Winslett; great-grandchildren- Emma Logan, Ava Logan; sister- Dean Threet; step-grandchildren- Aubreigh Sharpe, Alyssa Tyndall, Paul Tyndall, Cheyenne Deakle, and Owen Deakle. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Adult Men and Women of Bethel Baptist Church. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at The Arrington at Plantation Pointe and tender caregivers of Halcyon Hospice.
