COLUMBUS — Steve Donald Hampton, 72, died April 24, 2023, at his residence.
Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by NA James Funeral Home in Hammond, Louisiana. Lowndes Funeral Home of Columbus is in charge of local arrangements.
Mr. Hampton was born on April 8, 1951, in Independence, Louisiana, to the late John James Hampton and Mary Lee Daniels Hampton. He was a Baptist and Veteran of the United States Air Force. He was formerly employed with a government contractor fueling aircraft.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Smith of Columbus; children, Stephanie Connerly of Hammond, Louisiana, Ambrit Clarke of England, Alexandria Ludlum of Topeka, Louisiana, Lisa Smith and Nickie Hudson, both of Columbus; siblings, Audrey Baham of Hammond, Louisiana, Catherine Flemming of Independence, Louisiana and Timothy Daniels of New Orleans, Louisiana; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
