HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Solomon B. Richardson Jr., 71, died Feb. 23, 2010. at Huntsville Hospital. Graveside services are Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Dr. John Richardson officiating. Visitation is today from 6-7 p.m. at Lee-Sykes Funeral Home of Columbus. Mr. Richardson was born May 21, 1938, in Columbus to the late Rev. Solomon and Sallie Richardson Sr. He was employed with Drake Technical College after his retirement from the U.S. Army. He was a member of Phillips Brotherhood Community Outreach and Conley Chapel CME Church, where he sang in the choir and attended Sunday school and bible study. He is survived by his brothers, James Richardson, of Buffalo, N.Y., Samuel Richardson, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., The Rev. Dr. John Richardson, of Havre De Grace, Md.; sisters, Lourenia Hamilton, of Chicago, Ellenia Foard, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Doris Dumas, of Tuscaloosa, Ala. Pallbearers are family and friends.
