WEST POINT — Shirley Faye Coleman Griffin, 82, died Jan. 3, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle. Services are 3 p.m. Sunday at Riverside Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Sallee officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Garden Cemetery in West Point. Visitation is two hours prior to services at the church. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is entrusted with arrangements. Mrs. Griffin was born July 29, 1936, in the Craig Springs Community of Oktibbeha County, to the late Burry and Bessie Lee Eskridge Coleman. She was a 1957 graduate of Sturgis High School and was formerly employed as a telephone operator with Bell South and as a bookeeper with Spot Cash Tire in Starkville. Shirley was a charter member of Riverside Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Reese Earl Griffin; and sisters, Carlene Elrod and Pauline Green. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Haywood of Macon; sons, Gaylon Seawright of Madison, Alabama, and Darryl Seawright of Batavia, Ohio; sister, Francis Prisock of Starkville; brothers, Thomas Coleman of Starkville, Grady Coleman and Alfred Coleman, both of Sturgis; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Tim Horner, William Malone, Billy Harris, Cliff Stafford, Jimmy Nolan and Chris Purnell. Memorials may be made to Michael J. Fox Foundation Parkinson’s Ressearch, P.O.
