Saul Minor

STARKVILLE — Saul Minor, 88, died Jan. 9, 2010, at Oktibbeha County Hospital. Services are Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Great Ebenezer MB Church with the Rev. Gregory Wilson Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation is today from noon-5:30 p.m. at the church. Century Hairston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Minor was born June 20, 1921, in Starkville to the late Eugene Minor and Bessie Minor. He was a carpenter and a painter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Corine Minor; stepdaughter, Katie Williams West and siblings. He is survived by his sons, Sammie James Minor, Willie Minor, Lloyd Minor, Horace Minor, Dee Carter, Jerry Carter, Lionel Carter, Joe Carter and James Carter; stepdaughter, Vera W. Porter and a host of grandchildren. Pallbearers are the Deacons Ministry of Ebenezer.
