Samuel Lee Knighton, 43, of Columbus, MS passed away Monday, February 2, 2009 at North Mississippi Medical Center, Tupelo, MS. A private family service will be held at a later date. Mr. Knighton was born January 20, 1966 in Gadsden, AL to the late B.C. Knighton and Janett Ray Knighton and was a resident of Columbus, MS for the past 33 years. He attended Murrah’s Chapel Baptist Church, Columbus, MS and loved deer hunting, racing, watching Alabama football and NASCAR. Mr. Knighton also enjoyed music and an occasional concert. He was honorable, had a crazy sense of humor, trustworthy, would help in a friend at a drop of a hat, and fair in life. He was self-employed and had his own construction company and was a member of the Mississippi Army National Guard. In addition to his parents, Mr. Knighton is preceded in death by his sister – Ronda Hubbard; and brother – Andrew Knighton. Mr. Knighton is survived by his children – Samantha Nicole Knighton, attending college in Arkansas; Robert Scott Knighton, Philadelphia, MS; and Sheyanne Carol Knighton, Philadelphia, MS; brother – Charles Morris Knighton, Cedar Bluff, MS; sisters – Rev. Lon (John) Bell, Kosciusko, MS; Debbie Evans, Jackson, MS; Ruth (Jim) Green, Petal, MS; and Robin (Paul) Evans, Canton, MS; nieces – Angie Bush, Cleveland, MS; Mindy Wiles, Columbus, MS; Amanda Knighton, Cedar Bluff, MS; Leslie Hubbard, Columbus, MS; Ashley Knighton, Brilliant, AL; and nephews – Kyle Hubbard, Columbus, MS; and Jacob Knighton, Brilliant, AL. Honorary Pallbearers will be Uncle James Knighton, Mike Carter, Tyson Glover, Donny Winder, Donald Werner, Gary Blanton, and Richard Hubbard. Memorials may be sent to American Heart Association, P.O.
